Love Island star Ella's family reveal what really happened when she met Tyrique before the show

LOVE Island's Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde have made no secret that they knew each other before the villa - but now her sister have revealed what their first encounter was really like.

Ella and Tyrique have had a number of hurdles in their relationship so far and yesterday the pair clashed over a comment he made to bombshell Ella Barnes.

Tyrique also knew Ella B from the outside world after meeting in a nightclub and enjoying a smooch.

On last night's Aftersun, host Maya Jama was joined by Ella's mum Maggie and sisters Monica and Ifro.

The presenter asked: "Do you feel like Ella and Tyrique have come to a good place? Are they a good match?"

Monica replied: "Yeah definitely, he's definitely Ella's type.

"I was there when they met," to which a surprised Maya said: "Oh, you were there on the night the met outside of the villa."

Monica explained: "Yeah, he was chatting up Ella and afterwards Ella said 'he's really fit, isn't he?'."

Maya said: "Wow, so we have a first hand viewers."

The TV favourite then asked: "So on that night why didn't they connect properly?"

Her sister added: "It was just a brief meeting," while the host concluded: "Maybe this is fate."

Monica said: "I think this is," while Ella's sister Ifro told the audience: "They make banging couple, at first I was a bit sceptical but we've really seen how Ty has matured and they've kind of balanced each other out and Ella's really taught Tyrique a lot about himself.

"So we are rooting for the both of them and I think they'll smash it."

While Ella's mum gushed: "I love Ty, look how far they've come.

"I think he's open to maturing, there's a big growth in development that I've seen with Ty."

Maya then asked if Ella should have given Casa Amor boy Ouzy more time.

But her mum was quick to respond, saying: "No, he's lovely but no."

Last night Ella broke down in tears in an explosive row with Tyrique as their romance hangs by a thread.

The pair clashed during tonight's episode as they argued over Tyrique's ex - latest bombshell Ella Barnes.

Tonight Ella T told Tyrique: "So I spoke to Ella today, you told me you weren't on it but she told me you were flirting."

Her words didn't sit well with Tyrique and he replied: "She knows what she's doing, why wouldn't you talk to me after.

"So you don't trust me now?"

A fed up Ella said back: "Since she came in you've been singing her praises.

"I've not done anything to you can you calm down, I'm just trying to have a conversation."
