Smith is also set to round out her 2023 tour with a show in Chicago on December 27 and two shows in Brooklyn on December 29 and 30.

Smith, born in Chicago, moved with her family first to Philadelphia, and then to New Jersey.
After graduating high school in 1964, she worked in a factory, gave birth to her first child, a daughter, and placed her for adoption.
In 1967, Smith dropped out of college and moved to New York City, where she met photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, who would later become her romantic partner, and poet Janet Hamill.
While working on her writing, painting, and singing, Smith also earned a living as a rock music journalist, writing for publications like Creem and Rolling Stone.
Smith emerged as a pivotal figure in the New York City punk rock movement with her debut album, Horses, in 1975.
The album fused punk rock, art punk, and garage rock genres with lyrics about Smith's personal experiences alongside vivid, outlandish imagery.
In 2009, the Library of Congress selected the album for preservation in the National Recording Registry as a "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" work.
In 2021, Horses was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
